Shop Toyota 4Runner OEM replacement fender liners and wheel-well splash shields at PartsPrime. These inner wheel-well components are shaped around the 4Runner's front suspension area, body structure, bumper edges, and wheel-opening geometry.
4Runner fender liner fitment can depend on generation, vehicle side, mounting layout, and wheel configuration. Later applications can require different liners according to 17-inch or 20-inch wheel setups.
4Runner Fender Liner and Splash Shield Fitment
The terms fender liner and splash shield are commonly used when searching for this inner wheel-well component. The liner helps shield nearby body and mechanical areas from direct exposure to water, dirt, stones, road salt, and similar debris.
17-Inch and 20-Inch Wheel Applications
Some supported later 4Runner applications specify fender liners according to wheel size. A liner listed for a 17-inch wheel configuration should not automatically be assumed compatible with an application specifying 20-inch wheels.
Driver-Side and Passenger-Side Liners
Fender liners are generally side-specific because moulded clearances, attachment locations, and openings differ from one wheel well to the other.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a fender liner the same as a splash shield?
These terms are often used for the inner wheel-well protective panel, although exact terminology can vary by manufacturer or catalog.
Does wheel size affect 4Runner fender liner fitment?
Yes in supported later applications that specifically distinguish between 17-inch and 20-inch wheel configurations.
Are driver and passenger liners interchangeable?
No in most applications. Each side can use different contours and mounting points.
Can broken clips affect liner installation?
Yes. Damaged or missing retainers can prevent the liner from sitting securely in the wheel well.
Is the exterior fender included?
No. Exterior body panels are available separately under Toyota 4Runner Fenders.
How do I verify the correct liner?
Match model year, generation, vehicle side, wheel-size requirement where specified, mounting locations, and product application notes.
